After 40 years of marriage, raising children and working on their farm in Ouven, Victoria my clients were ready to retire and sold their farm. Their grown children and grandchildren lived in Adelaide and my clients decided to make the move.

After researching Buyer Agent’s online, they contacted us and spoke to our Director, Katherine Skinner. After chatting they felt confident in Katherine’s expertise and more importantly that she was empathetic and understood the stress and emotion this big change evoked. They wanted their dream retirement home and a beach house which they could share and enjoy with the family.

Two months into searching we just couldn’t tick all the boxes of their dream retirement home. Katherine suggested finding a knockdown in the perfect location where they could build their dream home on.  However, that meant extra time was needed and our clients would need somewhere to live. They brought forward their plan to buy a family beach house.

With this new strategy, Katherine set to work.

I contacted several agents and one advised that he wanted to sell his own property in Encounter Bay off-market. My clients were visiting for a weekend, and we had properties lined up to inspect, including this one. They loved it. We documented a cash offer with a long settlement period of 4 months that suited both parties.

On the same weekend, Katherine showed them a knockdown/rebuild. Not strictly in their preferred location but Katherine knew it was perfect. The property fronted onto a lovely reserve which would give them a sense of space and greenery, which would be so important to them after living on a farm for mean years.  They loved it. We submitted an unconditional cash offer.

With the offer deadline approaching, Katherine called the agent as she knew there were multiple offers on the table and the selling agent advised they had received a higher offer. Katherine never leaves anything up to chance and only because she called and chased the agent were they able to submit a higher offer and secure the property.

Our clients were over the moon and cried tears of relief and joy.

Thank you so much for all of your assistance across both of our purchases Katherine. We couldn’t have managed the stress of the search and purchases from the farm, and having you on the ground was worth its weight in gold. We look forward to inviting you over when we move into Encounter Bay later this year.
